International conference „Dignity and vocation of woman”
Faculty of Catholic Theology at Vytautas Magnus University and Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow invite to International Scientific Conference Dignity and Vocation of Woman on the occasion of 100th anniversary of John Paul II’s birth. The Conference will be held on 2nd of October 2020 at Faculty of Catholic Theology Vytautas Magnus University Gimnazijos str. 7, Kaunas.
The Goal of the ISC „Dignity and Vocation of Woman
“Progress usually tends to be measured according to the criteria of science and technology. Nor from this point of view has the contribution of women been negligible. Even so, this is not the only measure of progress, nor in fact is it the principal one. Much more important is the social and ethical dimension, which deals with human relations and spiritual values. In this area, which often develops in an inconspicuous way beginning with the daily relationships between people, especially within the family, society certainly owes much to the „genius of women”.
Letter of Pope John Paul II to Women, 1995
The goal of the Conference is a concern “with a broader vision of the situation and problems of women in general, in an attempt to promote the cause of women in the Church and in today’s world” (JPII, Letter to Woman)
